Guest Comments
Here are just some of the comments that our guests have made about us.
It's got to have been our best holiday ever and we don't want to go home....
The combination of the peace and beauty of this wonderful valley and the welcome given to us by yourselves has led to a much needed chance to re-charge our batteries.
It's our first visit to Northumbria and we've fallen under its spell and don't want to go home.
The Stables has been a perfect retreat from this busy world.
Paul, Judith & Emily, Bucks. 25th July 2009 A very relaxing week in a lovely homely cottage.
Would reccommend trying the local attractions such as the beautiful Alnwick Gardens - for a treat, dinner at the Tree House and Alnwick Castle. Slightly further afield we drove to Beamish, the open air museum in County Durham for a wonderful insight into days gone by.
Beautiful local walks, countryside and beaches.
All in all a great family holiday.
Leanne, Gordon, Keir and Hamish - Arbroath Scotland. 11th July 2009 First time in Northumberland for many years and enjoyed it greatly even in 'typical' British summer weather. Cragside is a great full day out as is Ford & Etal estate north of Wooler. Tankerville Arms at Eglingham has great food and monster servings. Queen's Head at Glanton is good too and slightly nearer. For an end of holiday treat, the Treehouse resturant at Alnwick is magical.
Rod and Christine - Dundee. 20th June 2009. This is our 5th visit to Cheviot Holiday Cottages and our first stay in Stables Cottage. We have had a fabulous time and have really enjoyed this cottage - the best so far.
Trysha & Graham thank you for your hospitality and warm welcome.
As always too many places to visit and not enough time.....we hope to return.
David, Debs and Grace - Bucks 2nd May 2009. Thank you both for an absolutely superb weeks holiday and a most wonderful stay at Honeysuckle Cottage. Trysha - you're reccommendation couldn't have been more spot on - the cottage is beautiful, the views glorious and the setting just perfect - we have slept better here than we've done in years.
Plenty to see and do, particularly enjoyed the waterfall walk, Alnwick Castle, Lindisfarne and Cragside - but have generally just been overwhelmed with the area.
We will definately be back.
Matt & Ro. 25th April 2009. Just like to say we've had a lovely holiday, hope to return next May 2010. The cottage is first class and the hens lay delicious eggs! Thank you so much.
Sue and Glen, May 2009 Wow! Its almost as if we've been holding our breath since leaving the A1 and heading up the A697. Nothing could have been any nicer during our fabulous week, our first in Northumberland.
The people, the places, the cottage and even the weather have been absolutely perfect.
We have to agree with at least one previous comment about the delightful lack of traffic. We didn't think anywhere like this still existed in England.
One week is nowhere near enough to even scratch the surface, so we will certainly be back.
Very rarely do you find somewhere you feel deserves more stars than its been awarded. This is a real gem of a place - well done Graham & Trysha and thank you for making it all possible.
Tim, Kathleen, Ella & Elizabeth - Oxfordshire 25th April 2009. Our first visit to Cheviot Holiday Cottages and Ingram but not to the Cheviots. We have immensely enjoyed long walks from the door. The landscape is beautiful and full of historical interest. The cottage (Dovecote) has been perfect for Christmas, so relaxing and comfortable. Trysha and Graham have put much thought and effort into achieving such high standards of accommodation. We'd love to return.
PS. the Church fraternity were very welcoming.
Steve and Jenny - Worcestershire 27th December 2008 Thanks for making our stay so memorable! You could not have done more to make us comfortable. We had a lovely time and it was wonderful to relax in front of the log burner - such an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. We look forward to seeing you in the summer when our little girl can walk - she will love the swings and walks in the country. Would reccommend to anyone.Cath and Richard, Yorkshire Nov 2008 Thank you again for a lovely holiday, it has to be one of the best we have had in this country.John Davis,Hucknell, Nottinghamshire 29th June 2008 Everything about our week was fantastic from the wonderful scenery, delightful empty beaches, stunning walks and visits to castles etc. The only question we ask ourselves is why have we not visited earlier!?
Honeysuckle Cottage is just so beautiful and fulfilled all our needs - thank you, you have a wonderful set up and we will definately return.
Jacqui & Andy Marsh, Sutton Coldfield 17th May 2008 The Breamish Valley and Honeysuckle Cottage have been a wonderful home to return to at the end of each day. Even the weather has been kind. A great introduction to the Secret Kingdom. We will be back for more!
Tony & Jenny, Oxon, 13th October 2007 The week we stayed at Bluebell Byre was like drinking a superb
bottle of wine, we savoured every sip, every moment, and now the
bottle is empty we're really depressed! We shall just have to come
back and get another one!
Graham and Julie Hadfield, 17th November 2007 A wonderful Christmas in a wonderful cottage in a wonderful location with wonderful walks all around. Nothing to fault in Bluebell Byre, so five stars throughout. A great Christmas with the only thing missing being snow. Graham and Trysha were first class in making the week extra special.
Robert and Karen, Harrogate, 28th December 2007 It has been a home for us for two weeks; you thought of everything to make us as comfortable as possible. We could even bake our own fresh bread. And every morning when drawing back the curtains we could see this wonderful view of the hills. Thank you! Surely we'll be back one day.
The Keizer family, Netherlands, 21st July 2007 This holiday was everything it promised on the tin and more! Fabulous cottage and such a peaceful location. This area is still the best kept secret in England and a big thanks to Trysha, Graham and the Northumberland locals for making it such a happy trip.
Stuart and Sarah, Surrey, 22nd July 2006(returned 2007) Our second visit has been just as exhilarating as the first. Thanks to Trysha and Grahams' thoughtfulness and attention to detail, we feel relaxed, cosseted and refreshed - who needs hotels when self-catering is as luxurious as this?
David, Linda & Chris, Stratford-on-Avon, 10th Sept 2005 What a fantastic cottage, definately the best equipped we have ever stayed in! Hope to be back again - would love to see the place in the snow. Many thanks.
Wendy, Stevie and Sam, 10th June 2006 Thank you for the best family holiday we've ever had. From the second we arrived until leaving everything has been just perfect. Barley Mill is so homely and warm and a delight to come back to...
John and Pat, Wolverhampton, Feb 2007 Just a short note of thanks again for a lovely week in the Stables- always a joy for us. Hope you don't think it cheeky of us to help with the cleaning! It really is a pleasure and shows our respect for your lovely cottages.
Sue, Madeline and Ella, Doncaster, October 2007 We have once again had a lovely, restful week in this super cottage. Loved the Aga. Thanks so much for everything.
Dave and Sue, West Mercia, July 2007 A wonderful relaxing week in beautiful surroundings. Cottage is First Class and we felt quite at home here. Would love to come back and will certainly reccommend to our friends.
