We've compiled a list of local amenities that our guests often use for your information including location and opening times.

Supermarkets/Groceries
Cheviot Holiday Cottages is located at Ingram in the Breamish Valley, three miles west of the A697, just within the Northumberland National Park.

Tesco's Extra (open twenty-four hours except Sunday 10am-4pm)
Marks & Spencer Simply Food (open Monday-Friday 9am-8pm, Saturday 8am-7pm and Sunday 11am-5pm)

If driving up from the south, both of the above are situated just off the A1/A696 Kingston Park junction. This is forty minutes from Ingram.

Morrison's (open Monday-Wednesday 8.30am-8pm, Thursday/Friday 8.30am-9pm, Saturday 8am-8pm and Sunday 8am-4pm) Located in Alnwick, twenty minutes drive east of Ingram.

Sainsbury's (open Monday-Wednesday 8am-9pm, Saturday 8am-8pm and Sunday 10am-4pm). Located in Alnwick, near the southern A1 entry/exit.

Longframlington Village Shops - Arriving from the south you drive through this village 15 minutes from Ingram. A phone call direct to each shop would ensure your order is ready for collection as you pass.

Hedgeley Garage local shop for basic groceries including milk and newspapers (open Monday-Friday 6am-10pm, Saturday/Sunday 7am-10pm). You will usually pass this on your daily trips out of the valley and it is only five minutes drive from Ingram.

Good Life Shop (open Mon-Sat 9am-5pm and winter 9am-4pm) Delicatessen, specialist cheese, organic, gluton free, wheat free produce. Located at Wooler fifteen minutes drive north of Ingram.

Tourist Infomation
The Northumberland National Visitor Centre at Ingram is only two minutes walk from your cottage and is an ideal place to begin your holiday. Recently rated Best National Park Visitor Centre in the country this also houses an archaeological exhibition of the Hillfort Heritage in the valley alongside its shop and information desk. Guide books and Ordnance Survey maps available. (open from Easter until the end of October)

Tourist Information Centres are also located at Wooler and Alnwick.

Churches
St Michael's Church is situated in Ingram near the cottages.

Public Houses
The Plough Inn at Powburn our nearest public house (a few minutes drive) has Sky TV and Internet access (see 'Eating Out' section for more pubs and resturants)
