Holiday Homes Scoop Awards A couple behind a holiday cottage business are celebrating a double achievement.
Graham and Trysha Stephenson, who run Cheviot Holiday Cottages in the Northumberland National Park, have won the Pride of Northumbria Self-catering 2004 Award and the National Silver Award in England for Excellence.
They recreated an 18th century Northumbrian farmstead to develop their business at Ingram, near Alnwick, which they have owned and run for eight years.
Over the last three years, they completed this unique development on a highly sensitive site forming part of the Grade II Listed Rectory grounds, adjacent to Ingram Church which has 11th century origins.
The development includes detached properties linked only by stone walls and gates around a courtyard resembling an 18th century Northumbrian farmsteading of a type that may have been found close to a large country dwelling.
