Silver Awards went to Cheviot Holiday Cottages, Ingram in the Self-catering Holiday of the Year category.

John Holmes, director of regeneration and tourism, One NorthEast, said, 'These awards recognise the excellent standards being achieved within the tourism industry and what sets these awards apart is the fact that all the regional winners are assessed anonymously by independant inspectors.'

Cottages take on the Best of British

The cream of Britain's tourism attractions are being taken on by a north Northumberland business in the battle for a tourisn Oscar.

Cheviot Holiday Cottages is in the national finals of the Enjoy England Excellence Awards 2005 after winning the self-catering holiday of the year category in the One NorthEast Pride of Northumbria Awards.

It now goes on to the national Enjoy England Excellence Awards 2005 to be held in London in April.
