Beautifully located in Northumberland National Park, near Alnwick and the Northumbrian Heritage Coast, this holiday cottage property provides an exceptional setting for a relaxing family gathering or celebration of any special occasion. Experience living in a lovely 18th century listed Rectory and enjoy spacious accommodation that has been restored to an excellent standard. The rooms are spacious and light, mostly with fantastic views, period features and grand architectural details.

  • Drawing Room (7.90m / 26'4" x 4.45m / 14'10") with two decorative marble fireplaces, a Wade English hand-made leather settee and armchairs.
  • Family Lounge (6.0m / 20' x 4.50m / 15') with marble fireplace (operational), Wade hand-made Victorian settee and armchair, large chest full of Lego, 42" wall-mounted directional plasma television with DVD, radio / CD and doors to garden.
  • Dining Kitchen (10.2m / 34' x 5.00m / 16'8") with Newcastle Furniture Company hand-painted kitchen with granite worktops, stone-flagged floor, four-oven oil-fired Aga, twin gas hob, electric multi-function fan oven, American fridge freezer and Meile fridge, dining table and chairs for eight, and walk in pantry (any home delivery shopping will be put away for you prior to arrival). The kitchen is lavishly equipped with excellent quality appliances, including a good selection of recipe books. You can even create your own individual pizzas using an Italian pizza peel to cook them in the Aga.

First Floor

  • King Bedroom West with white French furniture and a beautiful outlook through three large windows.
  • King Bedroom South with original decorative fireplace and hillside views.
  • King / Twin Bedroom with choice of beds and en-suite access to the Victorian bathroom.
  • Twin Bedroom - light and airy with views towards St Michael's Church.
  • All bedrooms have mattresses of an excellent standard, white towelling dressing gown for each adult, and abundant luxury white cotton bath sheets / hand towels.
  • Victorian Bathroom with traditional decorative fireplace ( notoperational), basin, wc, cushioned window seat and superb hill views from double-ended bath! Two doors allow a choice of either family or en-suite use.
  • Wet Jet Room – large newly installed facility with power shower, four water jets, basin and wc.

Outdoors

  • Private one-acre walled lawn to front and lawns to side and rear.
  • Outdoor garden furniture comprises a teak table and chairs and teak benches.

Other Information

  • On arrival, we provide fresh flowers and a welcome pack of basic necessities.
  • Special occasion and celebration hampers can be provided by prior arrangement, as can your own personal chef or an additional maid service, and remember that by including adjacent properties you can readily accommodate additional guests.
  • For the comfort of all of our guests, we do not permit dogs or smoking and only booked guests are permitted in the property and grounds.
