Where is the nearest pub?

The Queens Head at Glanton or Tankerville Arms at Eglingham, both 7 – 10 minutes drive away.

Is there a good restaurant nearby?

There are many restaurants, country inns, cafes and bistro’s in the surrounding villages and in Alnwick itself. The Tankerville Arms at Eglingham is a scenic seven minutes drive from Ingram and is a characterful coaching inn offering good interesting Northumbrian food. You can eat in the bar or the restaurant and children are welcome.

Where are the cottages in relation to one another?

We have eight cottages scattered around our peaceful mature grounds. Please look at the cottages ‘site plan’ which you can find under Your Stay. The aerial drone footage on our home page also shows the setting.

Can I park outside the cottage?

Yes, there is ample parking beside each of the properties.

Can I walk directly out from the cottages?

Quiet country lanes, open access land by the river Breamish (also a Site of Special Scientific Interest) and an excellent choice of Public Footpaths, Bridleways and Permissive Footpaths lead directly from the cottages. In your cottage you will find a file containing fourteen printed illustrated walks most starting from Cheviot Holiday Cottages. There are also a collection of walking guides describing walks in the area and along the Heritage Coastline.

How far is it to Alnwick and the beaches?

Alnwick Town lies twenty minutes drive to the east. All of North Northumberland’s beautiful beaches are within thirty to forty minutes drive from Ingram and part of the excitement is to explore the numerous quiet country lanes and villages on the way there and back!

Do I have to take out cancellation insurance?

Although we do not make it compulsory, as a good many guests already have their own, we do strongly recommend it to cover you in the event of having to cancel. For those who do not, we can suggest you contact PJ Hayman on 02392 419843

How do I make a booking?

Either – Book online

You can book online using mobile phone, tablet or computer. From the Cottage page please look at the price/availability screen which is up to date and simply follow the on screen instructions.

When you submit a booking via our online reservation system you will receive an automatically generated booking summary by email to the email address you provide on the booking form. This does not form the contract between us, a contract shall only arise when your booking is subsequently confirmed in writing via a letter of confirmation sent to you by email, when price will also be confirmed.

Do you accept dogs?

We listen to our guests’ comments very carefully and as a result our properties are completely dog free, apart from three, where we welcome well behaved dogs, only following prior discussion and agreement at the time of booking. The properties we accept well behaved dogs are Bluebell Byre, Barley Mill and Honeysuckle Cottage. There is an external water tap and hose in the courtyard and also a warm hand held external shower available for your dog and located in the main stable courtyard adjacent to rectory drive gates. Are the cottages suitable for children?

All the cottages (except for Gate Lodge and Retreat) are equipped with high chairs, Mothercare travel cots, top and bottom stair gates where applicable, spark guards and fixable wire cage child proof fireguards. The Coach House and Dovecote are suitable only for a young baby.
